Doubloons & Treasure Chests
How athletes earn treasure — and the fun ways to spend it.
What are Doubloons?
Doubloons are Deep Sea Dry Land's treasure currency. Athletes earn them by training — never by paying — and spend them on fun power-ups in the marketplace.
Doubloons always arrive inside a treasure chest. Earn a chest, tap it open, and the coins inside are added to your wallet (the number in the top bar). The rarer the chest, the bigger the haul.
The chest tiers
Every chest has a rarity tier, and each tier pays out a random amount of Doubloons within its band — so opening chests always has a little suspense:

Every way to earn a chest
Streak goals → chests
On your dashboard you can set a streak goal: a promise to train that many days in a row. Once set, it's locked in until you reach it (chest time! ) or miss a day (the goal resets — Surge will help you start a new one). Then you can pick your next goal.

The daily free chest — and why opening it every day matters
Visit the Doubloons page once a day and claim a free chest — no workout required. The twist: your daily open streak makes future chests luckier. Keep claiming day after day and the odds of Rare-or-better loot climb steadily. By day 10, at least 60% of your daily chests are Rare or better (Legendary is always capped at 10% — it should feel special!). Miss a day and the luck resets, so the daily chest is a great habit-builder.
You can also peek at the forecast — the next 4 days of chests, already rolled and waiting. If tomorrow shows an Epic chest, you know exactly why you're coming back.
Spending Doubloons — the marketplace
Doubloons buy power-ups that protect and boost your training game. Current catalog:

 Streak Restore | 250 / missed day | Broke your streak? Bridge the gap and stitch your old streak back onto your new one. The longer the gap, the more it costs — so hop back in quickly! |
In plain words:
- Streak Freeze — going on vacation or resting an injury? Freeze your streak before the days you'll miss and it survives untouched. You'll see a frozen badge instead of the flame while it's active.
- XP Boost — a 24-hour power-up: every workout you finish while it's active is worth double leaderboard points, and a glowing 2× badge lights up your top bar. The workout and minute parts of your score double; your streak points stay as they are.
- Streak Restore — the "oops" button. If your streak already broke, this repairs the gap and reconnects your previous streak — but the missed days never count as training, and your streak goal shifts back by the gap so it stays honest.
- Adrian's Gambit — not a power-up: a bet, and the only thing in the shop that can leave you with less than you started. Every play's odds are printed below, because a game of chance that hides its odds isn't a game, it's a trick.
Adrian's Gambit — the real odds
One play costs 25 Doubloons. Here is exactly what comes back, and how often:

Add that up and an average play is worth -6.25 Doubloons — the house wins, on purpose. More than half of all plays come back with less than the 25 they cost. Play it for the thrill of the 100-Doubloon chest, never as a way to grow a balance: the ghost can never push you below zero, but it can absolutely empty a purse you were saving.
There is also a hard limit of 5 plays a day, and it resets at your midnight. That is not a punishment and it is not there to make the bet harder to win — it is there because the Gambit is the one thing in the shop that can take Doubloons away from you, and nobody should spend an evening feeding it. Five is plenty for a game of chance.
Smart treasure strategies
- Claim the daily chest every single day — it takes ten seconds, and the escalating odds are the best deal in the game.
- Set streak goals you can actually hit. A finished 3-day goal beats an abandoned 30-day goal — and you can chain goals back-to-back.
- Freeze before you leave, don't restore after. A 7-day freeze costs a flat 1000 Doubloons; restoring 7 missed days costs 1750. Planning ahead pays.
- Chase your own records. Personal records are repeatable treasure — every new best is a new chest.
